Ama Dablam is located in the Everest region of Nepal and belongs to the Himalayan ranges. The name of this beautiful mountain can be literally translated into Mother’s Necklace. This is due to the geographic layout of the mountain, with its ridges seen as a mother’s arms holding a child and the glacier located below it to be the necklace. As you tackle the geography and the harsh climate of the region, you will reach its peak which is measured at 6812 m. The view from the top is considered to be one of the most beautiful one, consisting of a panoramic view of other ranges such as Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse and so on.
The Ama Dablam expedition will start at the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu which offers an outlook to a harmonious balance between culture and modernity. A short but scenic flight will take you to the town of Lukla. From Lukla, you will then travel to Namche Bazar which is inhabited by the Sherpa community. Here, you will get a chance to interact with the locals and visit the markets which will help you gain a unique perspective into their lifestyle and culture as well as how different it is from the urban regions of the world. As you trek on towards the village of Pangboche, you will get your first glimpse of Ama Dablam. In this village, you will also be able to visit the nearby monastery which claims to hold remains of a Yeti.
