Everest Base Camp lying on an altitude of 5364m is the gateway to the highest mountain in the world, Mt. Everest.  Located in the Everest region of Nepal which draws its name from the massive peak itself, Everest Base Camp is every trekker’s dream. The breathtaking views of the Khumbu Glacier topped off with a graceful rise of the surrounding peaks as you stand on an open, barren field, with colorful praying flags blowing in the wind- this experience draws inner peace in you. As you stand amongst the massive peaks, you feel smaller in comparison and this quenches the thirst of the inner adventurer in you.

Everest Base Camp Trek starts from the ancient Kingdom of Kathmandu which now boasts of incredible diversity in terms of language, culture, and traditions which in turn has managed to find that perfect balance with modernity. As you fly towards the town of Lukla, the short flight will give you the first look of the Himalayas. From Lukla, you will trek amidst beautiful hills and across valleys towards some of the most remote areas of the world.   • Day 03: Fly from KTM to Lukla (2880m), and trek to Phakding (2640m), 4 Hrs walking.
  • Day 04: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3445m), 5 to 6 Hrs walking.
  • Day 05: Acclimatization day, hike to Everest view hotel.
  • Day 06: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3860m), 5 to 6 Hrs walking.
  • Day 07: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4250m), 5 to 6 Hrs walking.
  • Day 08: Rest day at Dingboche (4250m).
  • Day 09: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4900m), 5 to 6 Hrs walking.
  • Day 10: Trek from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (5364m) via Gorakshep (5150m), 8 Hrs walking.
  • Day 11: Trek from Gorakshep to Kala Patthar (5545m.) and then to Pheriche (4240m), 7 Hrs walking.
  • Day 12: Trek from Pheriche to Tengboche (3860), 5 to 6 Hrs walking.

Detailed Itinerary

You will arrive at the capital city, Kathmandu. Situated inside of a valley, Kathmandu lies on the ancient salt trade route to Tibet along with two other cities, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. Our representatives will aid you towards your hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Since you have a free day in Kathmandu, you can visit the various landmarks and cultural heritage around the city. Several of these cultural heritages have a significant importance on the locals’ lives, such as Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, and Boudhanath. Other landmarks such as Basantapur Durbar Square have a deeper connection to the history of the country. Overnight in Kathmandu.

From Kathmandu, you will take a short but scenic flight towards the hill town of Lukla. Lukla is famous for being the first stop for travelers bound towards Everest ranges. From Lukla, you will trek towards the village of Phakding which is situated in the Dudh Koshi River Valley. The trail provides you with a beautiful view of the surrounding hills. Overnight in Phakding.

From Phakding, a trek of 5 to 6 hours will take you to Namche Bazar. Lying on side of a hill on an altitude of 3445m, this village is majorly inhabited by the famous Sherpa community. From this village, a magnificent view of peaks such as Kongde Ri and Thamserku can be seen rising above smaller hills that look like jewels on a crown. Overnight in Namche Bazar.

This day will be spent for acclimatization purposes, which means that in order to prevent cases of altitude sickness, you will rest so that you will get used to the climate of the altitude you are on. However, you can explore the markets of Namche Bazar which is filled with local goods. Also, you will hike to the nearby Everest View Hotel, which, as its name suggests, offers exquisite views of Mt. Everest and its surrounding mountains. Overnight in Namche Bazar.

From Namche Bazar, you will take a trail towards the village of Tengboche. This village is majorly inhabited by Tibetan Buddhists and houses Tengboche Monastery which is considered to be the most important and largest monastery in the region. This village offers a direct view of Ama Dablam along with other mountains such as Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Tawache, and Thamserku and so on. Overnight in Tengboche.

From Tengboche, you will take a trail towards the village of Dingboche. Dingboche is a small village majorly inhabited by the Sherpa community. The trail will take you through dense forests of pine, juniper, rhododendron which is common in this region. As you trek on, you will view panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Amadablam and so on. Overnight in Dingboche.

You will spend this day resting and acclimatizing at Dingboche at an altitude of 4250m. Dingboche possesses beautiful, green farms which grow crops of barley, potatoes, tea etc. You can explore the surrounding areas which include the Imja Valley as well. Overnight in Dingboche.

From Dingboche, you will take a trail towards Lobuche. Lobuche is a small village that is considered to be one of the highest settlements in the world at an altitude of 4900m. On your trail, you will cross the Khumbu Glacier. The village offers incredible views of Ama Dablam, Tawache and Pokalde. Overnight in Lobuche.

From Lobuche, you will trek towards Everest Base Camp via Gorakshep. Gorakshep is a settlement at 5150m, which is not inhabited year round due to the harsh weather conditions at the altitude of 5150m. As you trek onwards, you will reach Everest Base Camp located at an altitude of 5364m, from where a breathtaking view of the Khumbu Glacier along with peaks of Everest ranges provide a 360-degree view. The colorful prayer flags are tied all around which makes the view more beautiful. You will trek back towards Gorakshep. Overnight in Gorakshep.

A little way from Gorakshep lies the modest peak of Kala Patthar whose peak is measured at an altitude of 5545m. You will trek to the peak which is famous for a panoramic view of Everest and its surrounding mountains such as Lhotse, Nuptse etc. The view is even more incredible due to the fact that a full and direct view of Everest is rare because of its structure and massive height. You will then trek towards the village of Pheriche. The terrain now mostly consists of wide fields on the shadows of large barren mountains which makes up for an incredible view. Overnight in Pheriche.

You will take a trail back towards the village of Tengboche from Pheriche. You will cross the Pheriche valley and reach Tengboche in a time of 5 to 6 hours, where the views of Ama Dablam and Everest are prominent on the skyline. Overnight in Tengboche.

From Tengboche, you will take a trail back towards Namche Bazar. The terrain will gradually change from sparsely populated flora to lush, green hills with the view of snowy peaks above the hills. Overnight in Namche Bazar.

From Namche Bazar, you will trek back towards the town of Lukla via Phakding. This trail will take you 6 to 7 hours to tackle. Once in Lukla, you can explore the quaint streets which offer tourists a wide variety of cafes for good food and serene ambience. Overnight in Lukla.

A flight from Lukla will take you back towards the capital city, Kathmandu. The flight may be short, but it will offer you one last panoramic look of the Himalayas which you are sure to cherish after such a wonderful journey. Once in Kathmandu, you can choose to explore the city which is considered to be one of the best in the country in terms of lifestyle, culture and cuisine. Overnight in Kathmandu.
