Island Peak is perfect for the keen hill walkers with previous mountaineering experience using crampons and ice axes. Standing as high as 6175m, it is technically difficult and challenging peak climbing with difficult landscape between Mt. Amadablam and Lhotse. It lies in the extension of Lhotse Shar and located on the top of Chhukung glacier.
Island peak is one of the main attractions of Everest region, providing the summiteers full-on thrill and adventure of mountain expedition as well as most spectacular and distinguished views of the Himalayas in Khumbu Region. Otherwise called Imja Tse, Island Peak is called so on account of its view from the town of Dingboche which makes it look like the peak is rising from a sea of ice. The view from the top of Island Peak after tackling rope bridges, crevasses, and icy slopes is breath-taking, as you can see the giant Lhotse up close and Everest peeking behind it.
Your 20 days trek starts with a rare thrill of flying between the high hills to Lukla which opens the gate to a promised land with picturesque views of many surrounding peaks. Climbing Island Peak with Everest Base Camp Trek is planned for those adventurers who are enthusiastic and physically fit and desire for both trekking and climbing experience within a partial amount of time to trek.
