Mera peak is one of the favorite trekking destination and one of the most popular climbing endpoints in the country. Fairly challenging, it offers you ample dose of adventure and excitement. The peak rises to the south of Everest offering the summiteers some of the most spectacular views of entire Himalayan ranges.
From the summit of Mera, you can see 5 of the 6 highest mountains in the world: Everest, Kangchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyo. The ascent of the peak is technically straightforward, however, the heavy snow and the maze of crevasses can make the way longer to the summit. Besides the charming of Mera Peak Climb, the trek to its base camp from Lukla is rewarding for experiencing little-visited and yet un-spoilt region of Nepal with densely forested hillsides.
Trek to Mera peak also provides superb experiences. Hinku and Hongu valleys are spectacular Himalayan wilderness with an unforgettable experience, offering superb scenery, and abundant wildlife – including rumored sightings of the legendary Yeti.
The standard route from the north involves little more than high altitude glacier walking. Relatively easier, the rapid elevation of 6400m may be the biggest danger if in case of bad weather and snow conditions. You will be provided with necessary safety regulations and instructions.
