Pisang peak looms above the Pisang village located in Annapurna Region. This pyramid-like peak ascends from sparse forest and yak pastures in a uniform slope of ice and snow to top. It is easy to climb due to its geographical structure and you can always combine the Pisang peak climb with Annapurna circuit trek and get the full experience of Himalayas of Nepal. The western flank of the mountain is guarded by a hanging glacier and offers the considerable challenge. The western end of the ridge is guarded by huge rock slabs, which make it difficult to climb.
First explored in 1955 by the German expedition, the trekking to Pisang starts from Besi Sahar or you can take vehicles up to Chame for the direct route. Annapurna region provides you with numerous choices –you can always choose from multiple options whether to go for ultimate adventure or short days’ trip. From Besisahar, you will trek through the lush forest, pastures, and small villages and moves higher with wonderful views of Lamjung Himal and Mt. Manaslu. The most important moment of the track joins at Dharapani while trekking via Larkya La. Summit of the peak offers truly splendid views of the Annapurna region including Tilicho Peak, Annapurna II and IV, Gangapurna and the Glacier Dome. Pisang Peak is indeed a sightseeing peak. After Summit, either return from the same way or continues trek to Thorong-La pass and take flight or drive from Jomsom or trek to Nayapul.
