I had the opportunity to go on a trek with Jagat’s Independent Trekking Cooperative and I couldn’t have had a better experience. Jagat is an incredible leader and ensures his porters are treated fairly, paid well, and not overworked, unlike some other trekking companies that give too heavy of a load to porters. I got to know Jagat and his team though my stay and they always made their customers the top priority. At night we would gather in the tea house where we were staying and his crew would sing, play music, and tell stories for hours which was so much fun. It was a beautiful trip and I HIGHLY recommend everyone to book their trek through Jagat. A side note: ask about his life story! It’s pretty incredible.
